You’d think that a bar and grill located across the street from Minute Maid Park would serve up only bar food. While the wings and burgers are the Home Plate’s most requested fares, they’re not stand-outs here. Instead, try the mouthwatering chicken pesto pasta, which arrives swimming in a cream sauce, along with warm bread sticks. The warm spinach salad – “flash sautéed” baby spinach, red peppers and roasted onions, topped with blue cheese crumbles – is a hands-down winner.

While this bar is convenient to Minute Maid Park, there are way better establishments to visit within walking distance from the park. The drinks are overpriced here and the bar staff mediocre. Also, as a heads up, there is a $15 minimum to open a credit card tab.

The place is filthy, and probably only receives business out of convenience from the ballparks (Why I went, both times). The first floor was full, so we went upstairs, which is horrible for a sports bar. You can't see much of downstairs, there are no TVs, and it was filthy. There was one server, who did okay for how overwhelmed she appeared, but service was slow, because of it. There was also a table that had too much to drink, as they were passed out at the table. Most bars, if they come in like that, will not let them in. If they are drinking there, they need to know when to cut someone off. The friends were stomping around and yelling, clearly also heavily intoxicated. The drinks and food took some time, not as bad as I expected, though. We were only really willing to try it, because we were at a Dynamo game waiting for the line to die down. We didn't have high expectations for the food, but it was not good. Luckily, it didn't get us sick!

This is probably the worse bar I have ever been too. They have a sign out front flashing “3 dollar beers and 3 dollar shots” yet when you order them they bring you the beer and don't tell you it's not the actual $3 one. They lie. I asked about our bill cause it was so high and the waitress said they where out of the cheep beer so she didn't tell us. We also ordered our food and when she brought it over to us, 45 mins later, she then tells us that they don't have the nachos my girlfriend had ordered. Why wait tell them to tell us? I would have been happier eating at the stadium. Avoid this place. It's cheaper to eat and drink at minuet made park.
